Roundtable Discussion on Digital Substations (IEC 61850)

As part of the 6th edition of the Forum on the Digital Transformation of Energy Systems, CIMA+, in collaboration with AIEQ, is organizing a technical day dedicated to the IEC 61850 standard and the modernization of digital substations.
As Canadian utilities continue to transform their infrastructure, the adoption of digital technologies presents several challenges, including equipment interoperability, architectural choices, cybersecurity, commissioning, operations, and skills development.
This technical day will bring together representatives from utilities across Eastern and Western Canada, as well as technical experts, engineers, manufacturers, and industry specialists, to share their experiences, compare approaches, and discuss the challenges associated with deploying digital substations.
The day will focus on participant engagement and knowledge sharing, with the goal of identifying barriers, highlighting proven practices, and exploring opportunities for improvement.
This event is intended for utility professionals, engineers, and specialists in protection and control, automation, electrical substations, cybersecurity, and telecommunications, as well as manufacturers, system integrators, and engineering firms.
